Cheslyn Hay and Great Wyrley Flower Club is a group of people who meet regularly to enjoy a shared passion for flower arranging. The club is affiliated to the Mercia and North Wales area of NAFAS -- National Association of Flower Arranging Societies.
In February 1972, when a group of like-minded ladies decided that they would like to learn more about flower arranging, the Club was formed. Their enthusiasm and passion for flowers brought the Club through the various flower arranging trends over the last 30 years.
Each year we have a set programme, which includes demonstrations by NAFAS-trained demonstrators, monthly tutored evenings when we learn new skills and designs and we also arrange two outings per year to places with a flower arranging interest
We meet on average twice a month -- usually the Flower Demonstration is on the first Thursday and tutored evenings on the third. Visitors are welcome to the demonstration evenings (usual cost £4 for visitors), when a visiting NAFAS-qualified demonstrator entertains the audience with their floral interpretations and interesting anecdotes relating to their chosen theme.
