On the risers

This grant-backed course designed to get more people into, or back into, singing got underway on March 11th. and will finish this Thursday (29 April)

A mixed gathering of ladies, some with lots of experience gained in all kinds of choirs and some with no singing experience whatsover, came together to make a very joyful noise. Over two months they've learned 3 new songs and had a lots of laughs together.

"It's been fantastic!" said Course Director, Andrew Edgley. "I want to thank everyone for working so hard and for helping to make the last few months such fun. From the feedback we've had it looks as though we'll be sending 70+ ladies out in search of choirs and choruses in the local area, which is brilliant, and exactly what I was hoping for from week one. The last night will be a special night. We have a 'coaching under glass' session at which an invited audience of family and friends will be able to see what their loved ones have been doing on Thursday nights since March, and we've also got some great entertainment lined up. My chorus, Guildford Harmony will be performing, and our quartet Karisma, a mystery quartet will be making an appearance and top of the bill are award-winning ladies quartet, NoteOrious. It's going to be a fun night."
